The new edition of the Locarno Film Festival will welcome you from August 2 to 12 with more than 300 films, screened in 13 theaters, public meetings with prestigious guests from all over the world, the Rotonda by la Mobiliare with its quality art and music program as well as special events and initiatives to help you discover cinema in all its possibilities.

The festival brings prominent figures from the film industry to Locarno every year, thanks to its special awards and prestigious premieres accompanied by delegations from the scheduled films. To discover the stars of this edition, click here.

From July 28 to August 12, the Rotonda by la Mobiliare will set the mood in Locarno with great music, performances, immersive and culinary experiences. A place to experience moments of gathering, fun and relaxation, open every evening from 6pm and free of charge. The musical lineup and a list of other activities scheduled are available here.

Festival passes, day passes and tickets can be purchased online on  the Locarno Film Festival Ticket Shop. For those who have problems with purchasing or booking online, there will be a dedicated line to contact. For those who are unable to purchase online, it will also be possible  to purchase Festival passes and tickets directly at the Locarno Film Festival Info Points starting August 2. By the way, starting  this year, every Festival ticket will entitle you to free travel throughout the Ticino region! 

Yes, this year the Locarno Kids la Mobiliare program will be even richer with screenings dedicated to young children and their families and educational activities (workshops and ateliers) curated in collaboration with the event's educational partners. Promoted by la Mobiliare and intended for teens  aged 13 to 15, the Atelier du futur will also return: three days of workshops, meetings and visions to express their creativity in a joint project. Yes, The Locarno Academy, the Locarno Film Festival's educational program aimed at creating a networking platform for emerging young talent in the fields of filmmaking, film criticism and the film industry, will be held in Locarno this year from Aug. 2-12. Click here for more information.

As a Festival, our goal is to offer as many films available in the Digital Library as possible, without geographical restrictions. However, the final decision as to  how and where films are made available is up to the filmmakers and production companies.
