Open Doors Hub Awards

The Open Doors jury has decided to award the following prizes to three projects among those participating in the Open Doors Hub 2017, to support their production or development: 

Open Doors Grant (50'000 CHF)
A prize funded by the Open Doors initiative in collaboration with the Municipality of Bellinzona and the Swiss fund for production support Visions Sud Est, financed by the Swiss Foreign Ministry’s Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC):

BADESZENEN by Dawood Hilmandi (Afghanistan)

15'000 CHF
ONE SUMMER DAY by We Ra Aung (Myanmar)

CNC Prize (8'000 Euro)
ONE SUMMER DAY by We Ra Aung (Myanmar)

ARTE International Open Doors Prize (6'000 Euro)
MADE IN BANGLADESH by Rubaiyat Hossain Bangladesh)


In 2017, the Open Doors Jury was composed by Thierry Jobin (Visions Sud Est), Walter Ruggle (Visions Sud Est), Annamaria Lodato (ARTE France) and Claire Launay (ARTE France).

 

Open Doors Lab Awards

For the first time in 2017, the participants of the Open Doors Lab were also eligible for two awards. The winners are:

Open Doors to development – Initiative Film Grant
Rasitha Jinasena
with his project MAHAMAYA (Sri Lanka)

Special mention to Jawed Taiman with his project THE LAST NIGHT (Afghanistan)

Open Doors – TFL Award
Jami Mahmood (Pakistan)

 

Residency Internationale Kurzfilmtage Winterthur @ Villa Stràˆuli

The Winterthur International Short Film Festival, in collaboration with Villa Stràˆuli and the Locarno Festival, offer a two-month residency to applicants in the Open Doors, Leopards of Tomorrow and Filmmakers Academy programs who are from Africa, Asia, Eastern Europe or Latin America.
