Based on Brian Selznick’s eponymous novel, Wonderstruck follows two children from two different eras, both of whom want to change their lives. In 1927 in New Jersey, Rose, a deaf-mute, yearns for a New York she is forbidden to go to, and takes a passionate interest in the career of an actress. 50 years later, in 1977, Ben, deaf after an accident, lives in Minnesota and dreams of the father he has never known. When going through his mother’s belongings after her death, he discovers a clue that might help him find his father, and Rose finds out her favourite actress is due to perform in the Big Apple, the two children set out on quests that will take them to New York.
